San Diego–California Highway Patrol is investigating a “road rage” shooting incident Monday that injured a male motorist on Interstate-805 in San Diego.
CHP Border Communications Center received a call around 3:37 p.m. from a victim of a freeway shooting that occurred on the I-805 southbound to the 43rd Street off-ramp.
The victim, who was driving a white Toyota 4Runner was involved in a “road rage” altercation with another vehicle, which is described as an unknown gray sedan.
A male passenger in the sedan shot three times into the Toyota striking the male driver in the left thigh. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-critical injuries. The suspect vehicle, driven by a woman, fled the scene southbound on I-805.
The investigation is ongoing.
