Ramona, CA–A vegetation fire broke out Sunday afternoon in the area of Clevenger Canyon, near the community of Ramona, authorities said.

Cal Fire and the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department responded to the blaze around 5 p.m. at San Pasqual Valley Road and Bandy Canyon Road near Highway 78.

The blaze, dubbed the Clevenger Fire, has charred 50 acres with a slow-to-moderate rate of spread. Currently, it is 20 percent contained.

Fire crews will be working through the night, building a containment line. Highway 78 is closed from Horizon View to San Pasqual.
