Oceanside, CA–Firefighters battled a two-alarm residential fire that quickly filled the air with heavy smoke Sunday in Oceanside.
The fire was reported around 6:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of Oceanside Blvd. The first arriving engine found fire coming from the front of a small single-story residence, Oceanside Fire Department Battalion Chief Justin Klopfenstein said in a news release.
Fire crews pulled hose lines inside the front and rear of the home to perform a search for victims while extinguishing the fire.
After performing a search of the residence, no one was found inside; however, the homeowner was later discovered at a neighbor’s house and was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation injuries. Fire crews were able to control and extinguish the fire.
No firefighters were injured in the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
