Carlsbad, CA–The Rotary Club of Carlsbad has announced the release of substantial donations to various North County organizations as part of the Day of Giving.

The club made donations to groups that have seen increased demand along with additional challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I’m totally impressed with the commitment, passion, and selflessness our four Day of Giving honorees demonstrated, focused on assisting those unable to help themselves. A noble purpose resulting in a profound and enormous impact,” said Bill Walsh, President of Rotary Carlsbad.

The organizations that received the donations were:

· Shelter-to-Soldier – Rescue dogs trained and provided for free to veterans w/PTSD

· Free Wheelchair Mission – Supplies wheelchairs free of charge to those in need living in developing nations

· New Haven Youth and Family Services –Provides professional care, education & treatment for youth and their families with emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges.

· Voices for Children –Donates Court Appointed Special Advocates for abused, abandoned, and neglected children.

“Carlsbad Rotary’s generous donation will go a long way to help us meet our goal of serving veterans who struggle with ongoing PTSD challenges by pairing them with specially trained service dogs we’ve rescued from local animal shelters. Their charitable donation will help us continue our mission of saving lives, two at a time!” Tommy Moore, Veteran and Community Outreach Representative of Shelter-to-Soldier said.

As part of the Day of Giving ceremony, each organization had an opportunity to tell its story and received a check from the Rotary Club of Carlsbad.
