Sheriff’s Department launch investigation of missing Potrero man

January 26, 2021 by San Diego

Christopher Parkhurst

CAMPO–The Sheriff’s Department homicide unit has launched an investigation on the whereabouts of a 47-year-old man who reportedly was last seen by an acquaintance on December 23 in the 23000 block of Horizon View Drive in Potrero.

On January 3, the family of Christopher Paul Parkhurst reported him missing to the San Diego Sheriff’s Department. Parkhurst’s family has not seen or heard from him since his disappearance.

Deputies have conducted a limited search of the area for Parkhurst, but the terrain in the area is rugged and expansive.

Last week, about 80 volunteers with Sheriff’s Search and Rescue, homicide detectives, and deputies assigned to the Campo Substation conducted an exhaustive search of a large area around Horizon View Drive. Parkhurst was not located and his whereabouts is still unknown.

Anyone with information about Parkhurst is asked to call the Homicide Unit at (858) 285-6330/after hours at (858) 565-5200. You can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
