Oceanside, CA–Oceanside and Carlsbad firefighters contained a one-fourth acre brush fire Friday afternoon that broke out near a senior center in Oceanside, fire officials said.
Fire crews and Oceanside police responded to reports of a fire around 2:25 p.m. in a dry grassy area near the Oceanside Country Club Senior Center at 455 Country Club Lane.
When crews arrived at the scene, they immediately deployed the necessary hose lines to combat the flames, box in the fire, and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby properties, the Oceanside Fire Department said in a news release.
No injuries were reported, and no structures were damaged. The blaze was fully extinguished within an hour.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by an Oceanside Fire investigator.
