Pedestrian fatally struck by Coaster train

Carlsbad, CA–A pedestrian was fatally struck by a Coaster train Tuesday evening on the tracks south of Tamarack Avenue in Carlsbad, authorities said
The Sheriff’s Department Transit Enforcement Unit was dispatched at around 7:24 p.m. to investigate a collision involving a train and a pedestrian.
When deputies arrived at the scene, the victim involved in the collision was deceased, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
Deputies are investigating the incident and the manner of death will be determined by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
