Oceanside, CA–A two-alarm structure fire that broke out early Tuesday morning damaged a motel complex in the north county, fire officials said.

The Oceanside and Carlsbad Fire Department fire crews were dispatched to the fire at Oceanside Inn and Suite, located at 1820 South Coast Highway.

When fire crews arrived on the scene, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from an end unit of the single-story motel complex.

According to the Oceanside Fire Department, the motel consisted of 22 rooms of which 19 of them had been occupied. All of the occupants were evacuated without any injuries.

The occupants from the room where the fire reportedly originated had checked out of the motel the previous night at 11 p.m. according to the motel manager.

Power and water had been shut off to the complex while fire crews battled the blaze.

Fire crews were able to contain the blaze in less than twenty minutes, fire officials said.

The cause of this fire is currently under investigation.
