Two people shot, one dies near the Mexico border

San Diego, CA–Two people were found shot, one fatal early Friday morning near the border of Mexico, authorities said.
The Sheriff’s Department was notified by Cal-Fire around 1:30 a.m. of a shooting that occurred in San Diego near the border.
One man was transported to a local hospital. The second man was pronounced dead at the scene. Both victims appear to have gunshot wounds. The identities of the victims have not been released, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The nature of the relationship between the victims and potential suspects is unknown. The motivation and circumstances of the shooting are still under investigation, authorities said.
