Rancho Santa Fe, CA–Four people were arrested on suspicion of residential burglary in a Rancho Santa Fe neighborhood Saturday, authorities said.
Deputies from 4S Ranch, Poway, Encinitas, and an ASTREA helicopter were dispatched to an in-progress residential burglary in the 6800 block of Poco Lago at 7:42 p.m. where three suspects were seen attempting to gain entry to the residence.
ASTREA notified deputies that the suspects were seen fleeing the area through the canyon to a waiting vehicle. Once the suspects entered the vehicle, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. Patrol deputies attempted to initiate a high-risk vehicle stop, however the vehicle sped away leading the deputies on a short pursuit. The pursuit ended when the suspects crashed into a gate of a gated community. The four suspects exited the vehicle and fled on foot. After an extensive search of the area, deputies located the suspects and took them into custody on multiple charges including felony evading, residential burglary, possession of stolen property, and resisting. They were booked into the San Diego Central Jail. Multiple items of stolen property were recovered from the suspect’s vehicle.
Sheriff’s Department detectives from Poway and Encinitas are investigating the incident.
