Homeless man arrested on suspicion of residential burglary, kidnapping

El Cajon, CA–A homeless man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of breaking into people’s homes in East County, authorities said.
The El Cajon Police Department began receiving 911 calls around 6:25 p.m. about a homeless man trying to break into people’s houses in the 800 block of Elizabeth Way in El Cajon.
When officers arrived at the location, the man ran from officers but was caught and detained. He was identified as 30-year-old Domonick Medlock of San Francisco. He was arrested and booked on several felony charges including kidnapping with the intent to commit rape and burglary.
Officers located three separate female victims who all had similar encounters with the suspect. The suspect grabbed onto the women and tried to force his way into their homes. He punched one of the women in the neck. He then entered the house of a fourth victim. A father was at home with his children when the suspect entered his residence. The father was able to defend his family and chase the suspect off using a wooden rod.
