El Cajon, CA–A man on probation for carrying a concealed weapon was arrested Wednesday afternoon for possession of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia, El Cajon Police Department said.

Officers stopped a man in the 1300 block of East Main at around 3 p.m. for causing a traffic hazard. They conducted a record check on the man who was identified as 51-year-old Peter Cusimano. He revealed to officers he was on probation for carrying a concealed weapon. During a probation search, Cusimano had drug paraphernalia and fentanyl on him.

Cusimano told officers he has been a participant in the San Diego County homeless voucher program since January. Cusimano said the contractor for county homeless vouchers, Equus Workforce Solutions, was in the process of moving him to a different hotel due to him staying the maximum amount of 28 days at one place.

Cusimano was arrested for fentanyl and drug paraphernalia and released on a citation.
