Oceanside, CA–Oceanside residents looking to get rid of household goods, old furniture,  non-hazardous wastes, and other items beyond reuse or repair can drop them off at the City of Oceanside’s Dump Day cleanup event.

The Dump Day event will be held on June 10 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at both the Crown Heights Resource Center, 1210 Division Street, and at Joe Balderrama Park, 709 San Diego Street.

Landfill dumpsters will be available for furniture, mattresses, barbeques, home goods, and other items. Recycling services will also be available for e-waste items such as household appliances, printers, TVs, computers, and other items that often have cords or batteries. No hazardous items will be accepted. To schedule a household hazardous waste drop-off appointment, call Waste Management at (760) 439-2824.

Residents are reminded that the event is “First come, first served,” and will shut down when maximum capacity is reached.

The annual cleanup events are held in collaboration with the city’s Neighborhood Services, Code Enforcement, and the Green Oceanside Team.

“Community cleanups are a great and easy way for everyone to get involved in their community, complete community service hours, and help serve as many areas as possible by removing debris, trash, and illegally dumped items from city neighborhoods, parks, and beaches,” the City of Oceanside stated on its website.

The next Dump Day event will be held on October 21 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at John Landes Resource Center, 2855 Cedar Road in Oceanside.
