Lakeside, CA–Two people were arrested Friday in connection with a vehicle burglary, illegal drug possession, theft, and fraud in East County, authorities said.
On November 25, the victim had his wallet stolen from his unlocked vehicle. The suspects later used his stolen credit and debit cards to make fraudulent purchases.
Lakeside Sheriff’s Department detectives obtained surveillance video from the gas station where one of the stolen credit cards was used to identify the two suspects. Detectives later found the suspects residing in El Cajon, Sheriff’s Department Sergeant Colin Hebeler stated in a release.
On Friday, deputies served a search warrant at a home in the 1500 block of Main Street and arrested 40-year-old Raymond Evans and 37-year-old Jessica Talmadge. A search of the home revealed 31 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale, a stolen handgun, ammunition, stolen credit cards, bulletproof vests, and several firearm holsters.
Evans was booked into the San Diego Central Jail. Talmadge was booked into the Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility. Both are facing numerous drug, weapon, and identity theft charges.
