Woman arrested in connection with school bomb threat

San Marcos, CA–A 32-year-old woman was arrested last month in connection with a phone bomb threat last month at San Marcos Elementary School, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.
Sheriff’s deputies were searching for Marie Kim on suspicion of making the threat when they responded to an argument on February 23 in the 2700 block of Twin Oaks Valley Road in San Marcos, said Sheriff’s Department Lieutenant Michael Arens in a news release.
Deputies recognized Kim, and arrested her for falsely reporting a bomb threat. She was also charged with battery, vandalism, and obstructing a peace officer regarding the incident on February 23.
Kim was booked into the Vista Detention Facility. She has since been released on bail.
On February 8, around 1 p.m., a reported phone call was made about a bomb threat at San Marcos Elementary at 1 Tiger Way.
Deputies arrived at the school and contacted school administrators, and informed them about the threat.
As a safety precaution, administrators made the decision to evacuate the school.
Deputies worked with school staff to ensure the safe and orderly evacuation of San Marcos Elementary.
The students were transported to San Marcos Middle School, where they were reunited with their families.
Deputies searched the entire campus along with officers and bomb-sniffing dogs from Cal State San Marcos Police Department and San Diego State University Police Department. The search found nothing suspicious. The school was then released to the San Marcos Unified School District.
