Man shot at apartment complex in East County

El Cajon, CA–A man was shot in the leg Monday morning at an apartment complex in El Cajon, authorities said.
El Cajon Police Department received a call around 11:05 a.m. of multiple gunshots heard at the complex in the 200 Block of Van Houten.
When officers arrived on the scene, they located one victim who had suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper leg. The officers removed the victim from the scene, and paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital.
According to El Cajon police, a witness reported seeing the suspect traveling north from the crime scene. Officers broadcast a description of the suspect to surrounding units. An El Cajon Police sergeant saw an individual matching the suspect description in the 200 block of El Cajon Blvd. The sergeant and other officers contacted the suspect and arrested him. He was identified as 25-year-old Quinton Darensbourg. They also recovered a firearm on the suspect.
Darensbourg and the victim may have known each other and were in an argument prior to the shooting. It is unknown what the argument was about.
The investigation is ongoing.
