Elderly man beaten during home invasion robbery

Del Mar, CA–An elderly man was beaten in his home on Friday afternoon by two unidentified suspects during a home invasion robbery in Del Mar, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.
Deputies responded to an incomplete call at around 1:40 p.m. for help at a residence in the 1800 block of Santa Fe Avenue.
Through the investigation, deputies learned the 80-year-old victim’s hands were bound, and he was assaulted inside his residence. Video surveillance captured the suspects at the scene.
The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital where he remains in stable condition.
Detectives are investigating the case.
