One person found dead in a residential fire in East County

San Diego, CA–Firefighters responding to a residential structure fire found a deceased person inside the home in Spring Valley early Sunday morning, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.
The Sheriff’s Department received a call from a neighbor about a house on fire around 4 a.m. in the 8600 block of Eileen Street.
When deputies and firefighters from San Miguel Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene they found the back of the home fully engulfed in flames. While extinguishing the blaze, a body was found inside the home.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Bomb and Arson Unit were called to the scene to investigate the origin and cause of the fire.
The Sheriff’s Department says the incident is under investigation.
