San Diego, CA–San Diego Jewish Academy will launch Camp Carmel Creek for campers from kindergarten to 5th grade at its 56-acre campus this summer.
The campers will get to experience classic camp activities and engaging Jewish experiences, while also tailoring their days to maximize the fun for themselves and their friends, school officials said.
The camp’s mission is to fill childhood summers with joy, curiosity, adventure, and community.
“Camp Carmel Creek is a unique specialty camp with a classic camp feel, which is to say that our campers can expect to have all the experiences they love in a day camp while getting to choose the activities they are most passionate about doing each day,” said Adam Benmoise, director of Camp Carmel Creek. “We also know summer camp isn’t just for kids. Parents are always in mind as we create our summer camp experiences. We provide flexible scheduling and include lunch, a state-of-the-art, safe facility and have top-tier staff and camp leadership.”
Benmoise last year joined San Diego Jewish Academy’s leadership team as its first-ever director of Auxiliary Programs to focus on efforts to open the academy’s experience to the broader community through after-school and summer programs and additional engagement opportunities.
“We are extremely excited to launch Camp Carmel Creek as part of our overall efforts to provide engaging and inclusive programs to the community,” continued Benmoise. “Through our unique four Adventure Tracks, campers will get to choose their own experience. This summer, our tracks include athletics for aspiring athletes, arts for the makers and creators, sci-tech for the future innovators, and nature and outdoors for the outdoor explorers. There is truly something for everyone.”
