Suspect arrested on suspicion of shooting woman and stealing her e-bike

Oceanside, CA–Oceanside police arrested a suspect Wednesday morning on suspicion of shooting a woman in the foot and stealing her e-bike, authorities said.
Officers responded to a call of a shooting near the 3500 block of College Boulevard on Tuesday at 10:06 p.m. in Oceanside. A 31-year-old woman was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot. She was transported to a local hospital, treated for her injury, and released.
Authorities conducted an extensive search for the suspect and were unable to locate him.
On Wednesday, an officer spotted the suspect near the 3300 block of College Boulevard and conducted a traffic stop. Officers detained the suspect without further incident and recovered a firearm believed to have been used in the shooting and an e-bike matching the description of the one the suspect was seen fleeing with following the shooting.
Officers arrested 32-year-old Jesus Castaneda, of Oceanside. He was booked for assault with a firearm.
